hey peeps!
firstly, the girls did great for the rj match! never seen you all run so much before. and not to forget special mention for jessica, who minded the net very well for someone who's played goalie for, what, her second time? on the whole the girls team played exceptionally well for their first game. =)
but remember the referee wasn't much of a ref yea. there was hardly a call for slashing, then there were many times the ball wasn't hit in from the corner spot after being played out, or the hit in was taken while the ball was moving, which the ref closed one eye to. so watch out for these little things k? keep it up!
guys guys.. i guess we got a little roughed up by them eh. but no worries, when we really face them they're gonna have plenty of fouls on their plate. dun rule out suspension yea. powerplay situations can help our game by alot. but i guess we agree that we could toughen up a little, so that we wont get pushed about so much on the court. so take the physicals seriously, esp the pushups and abs part. dun get yourself injured in a match for nothing. every little bit counts, and so does every man. there's no need to mention stickwork, all of us are working on that already. just keep our cool, we're VJC after all. clean and fair. =)
i'll have disagree with jt on one thing though. i don't really think our fitness was better than them.. i'd give us at most, on par with them? those guys ran like dogs, really. fast, lasting and not forgetting, violent but since there weren't really rules these guys kept the pressure on us much of the time. these are the kind of players we have to mark, and most importantly keep up with. so speed and stamina wise it'd be good for us to keep improving. i feel that we were able to hold them at this match was because we capitalised on our chances, while they wasted quite alot of those, and it's a good thing that we've got the eye for goal. oh and not forgetting, our keepers played well. improved quite a bit eh, good job! =)
i'm sure this friendly brought up alot of issues where sportsmanship seemed lacking in the game. all i can say that when the real match comes, it'll be a more controlled game, so just chill. any injustice we face now, they'll get paid back by the coin next time. no reason for us to get upset or worse, show misconduct. coach is right, smile at them, let them bite their own tongues. we play to carry our school name, so we'll let our actions speak for our morality.
that's my piece then. play hard, play fair. =)
