Hi everyone,

There are three issues that will be elaborated on.

Firstly, there will be the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) 3-on-3 Floorball Carnival. The available categories for us are the Mens and Ladies Under-19 Category. It will be on 29th Novemebr 2008 (Saturday) from 1000h to 1900h at SIM. There is an Under-15 Category but I'm quite certain it isn't applicable for us. Leave a note on the tagboard if you want information on that. The entrance fee is $40.00 for a team of 4. To quote Yan, we are strongly encouraged to participate in this mini-tournament for exposure. It's possible for teams from the team to win prizes. Send an e-mail to me if you want the application form. Hand the form in, together with the money, to Yan asap. Look at the poster below if it helps.


Secondly, there will be a referee course (cough cough) held by the Singapore Floorball Association from 24110 (Monday) to 271108 (Thursday). It will be from 1900h to 2200h at SIM. The fee is $60.oo. According to Yan, it include two referee jerseys, a pair of shorts and a whistle. Interested parties are to send an e-mail containing their full name, NRIC number, date of birth, contact number and e-mail address to Yan at muhammad.miryanto@gmail.com. If you are interested in this, please send your details to Yan asap to ensure that you are registered for the course. Again, look at the poster below if it helps.



Thirdly,to whoever it applies to, try rubbing a substance containing Aloe Vera (e.g. Aloe Vera gel) and/or Vitamin E on your sunburnt skin to reduce inflammation. Don't use butter as it is likely that this will damage your skin.

hey, mr loke can get nike shoes and stuff for us. If you want them, go to a nike shop and take down the product code of the nike product and the size you want (eg, shoe size) and msg me. The earlier the better, as we will need court shoes for training soon.

Hi all,

Here are possible exercises you can do on overseas trip:
4-6 sets of 20-30 crunches, push-up, squats, leg raise, pelvis raise, fist crunches (eg. 200 counts), 3-5 sets of 100 counts of 4 jumping jacks.

If you can put in 15-20mins every day (especially those on long trips) doing such exercises, it should slow down the rate of decline of your fitness. Those of you who have access to swimming pools and gyms may want to spend 30mins swimming or running 2-4 times each week.

You have worked so hard to build up the fitness base, I'm sure you won't want them to go down the drain.

Enjoy your trips and have fun exercising.

Hello floorballers

Training attire is as such: PE shirt on all of the four days (meaning mon, tues, thurs, friday) and for tuesday and thursday, make sure you bring your HOUSE TEES along for games and stuff like that. Oh oh if you have not enough pe shirts you are allowed to wear any of those VJ t-shirts, but only if you've not enough pe shirts.

AND girls pin up your fringe!!!!

Hi boys and girls,

The budget for floorball for 2008 has largely been channelled to court booking, your seniors and those who took part in the 2008 season had funded their coaching fees through paying cash from Jan-Mar 2008 before making use of edusave or cash to fund coaching fees from Mar-Jul 2008.

I regret that the edusave scheme for this current batch can only start to kick-in in Jan 2009. Therefore, whatever payment that is required now will be cash. The EXCOs and myself have worked out the sums. Other than the current collection, there will probably be one last collection of $10-$15 for the rest of the 2008. Come next year, you either contribute a one-time payment of $100 from your edusave or cash. (exception are those who already paid this year but did not make the cut for the last 20)

In my opinion, I think its fair for the whole team to pay an equal amount regardless if you miss training due to some reasons. It also makes the whole accounting process easier. Besides, for example if I have a team of 30, 15 members go missing and dont pay, the burden will be shouldered by the remaining 15. So, the 15 still around will pay more (double). Say another week where the the roles are switched, 15 go away, the 15 who are around now will have to shoulder the whole amount. In the long run, total payment per player works out to be the same.

I really do not wish to penalise players for attending training. Imagine if I have only 1 committed player and the rest of 29 go away. Should that 1 player pay $100 every week and the 29 pay $0? If this is the case, we might as well close shop. This may be an extreme case but I hope you can see my point.

I have already requested for extra budget to pay whatever court booking we will have the remaining of 2008 (a couple of thousand dollars). I really seek your understanding regarding this matter.

For all those of you who have access to the floorball locker (the one with the lock that looks like a briefcase): 1. Keep the access code to yourselves. 2. Do NOT scramble the dials when the lock is disengaged. 3. In the event that you do scramble the dials when the lock is disengaged, set the dials back to the current access code before engaging the lock.

Please adhere to the aforementioned instructions to prevent time-consuming actions from being taken to reset the access code.

Hello boys & girls. Training schedule in the hols (for now) will most probably look like this:
Try to make sense of the table. If you can't read it properly I think clicking on it will blow it up. As in, make it larger. As the weeks progress we'll probably schedule in court trainings as well. But for this coming week, that's what we're doing. For those who have trouble understanding the table, try double-clicking on it. There'll be a live commentary to explain things verbally.
