hey people, just some stuff that i neglected to mention earlier.
as an individual, do not think that training will be enough to make you the best, or to even make you an outstanding player. attending every training does not equate to working hard, since that’s but the bare minimum. hard work comprises of the discipline to work on your abilities outside of training, and learning to incorporate these abilities in training and games appropriately. gaining exposure and conducting self-training are but little steps in which you can take to reach your potential.
of course, always remember that you’re just a building block, and without your team-mates, you don’t make a building.
now that us j2s are gone, it’s a new chapter that all of you are starting on. at every training, take a look at the people around you. these will be the people who you’re going to have to work with through the year, up till july; these will be the ones who will fight alongside you on the court; these will be the people who you will have to rely on in time to come. if you truly want to stand a fighting chance in the nationals, learn to accommodate and help each other, and when the you’re put to the test, you know you won’t be alone or let down by anyone around you.
remember: “Talents win games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
through it all, it will not be the memories of victory or defeat that you carry along, but the pride of having been a part of VJ Floorball.
