Salutations, gentlemen (yes, the guys).
Please report in the canteen at 0915 on Monday, and after accounting for everyone, we'll eat. Spend some time together until 1000, at which we'll change into PE t-shirt, black Fat Pipe socks and court shoes. The bus leaves at 1015.
here are some items that you absolutely have to bring: 1 PE t-shirt, 2 jerseys (yellow & black), black shorts with bright yellow stripes, long black Fat Pipe socks, court shoes, team jacket. Please don't be the goondoo that forgets your stick.
J1s, I'm sorry to say this but you are prohibited from skipping lessons to attend our matches for now (if you were interested). These are the instructions from higher authority.
Gentlemen, nobody can motivate you as much as yourself. I'm gonna save you the 500 word-long essay about winning and attitude and yadayada. I think you're mature and rational enough to know that for yourself. Just remember that you're not playing for yourself. We are playing for the school whose name adorns the back of our jerseys.
Pride (
noun) - a reasonable or justifiable self-respect. How would you like other people watching us fall to other teams? How would you like telling other people about an embarrassing scoreline? How much longer are you going to let people put down your CCA (unless you've been living in a cave)? Here's our chance; let's make the most of it. Follow instructions. Do what you already can. This is the first and last chance for most of the team. Are you going to throw it away?
Remember how you earned your jersey. Remember all the injustices that we were at the receiving end of (hint: one of them is in a modern descendant of papyrus in a primary colour of wavelength 440-490 nm; don't shoot me if you figure it out). Remember the 15 (I think) sets of suicides we did at TSH after one of our friendlies. And never forget the red metal frame with a net that was specially featured for a particular set. To quote Miryanto's principle of scoring, "We beat them, kick them out of the court, throw them out the window, drag them onto the road and run a lorry over them." Be a good Science student if you're one and be flexible with the subject of that statement.
Belief
(noun) - a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing. Do you believe in yourself, that you are good enough to play well and do VJC proud? What about your line and team mates? Don't be nervous, yet don't be over-confident. The scoreline is 0-0 at face-off. Dare to try for goal (on target) when you can and should. Dare to challenge for rebounds. Get the job done, and have fun while we're at it.

Take care, especially if you're sick or injured.
Who do we play for?
