I sincerely thank those who carried the team's burden on their legs and shoulders for the entire match/day. I also appreciate all who stood by the team at a critical moment.
I could see the fire and desire to perform, as sportsmen, as Victorians, as young men with character, from the players who played their part. Everybody was working hard, even the newer ones stepped up to the occasion when called upon, senior players were guiding the newer ones throughout. These are strong signs that we are still a team.
Although many of us are disappointed or disturbed, I still believe the team will withstand this setback. I really hope you will share the same belief as me too.
Let's all stand up to the test and challenge.
