Just read redsports.sg, it wasnt at all nice looking at photos of Victorians who tried but were disappointed. The soccer boys probably have the potential to make it into another final this year but they just ran out of time, space and chances. That's the cruel fact in sports.
Despite not winning, we are still proud of our soccer boys for having worked so hard to achieve their goals, at training and matches. I must say that the real test has only just begun for them... a test of character, a test on how to pick themselves up and be ready for the next challenge in life.
As a Victorian, it is really nice to see the hockey girls make it 8-in-a-row this year, the soccer girls making it 4 finals (i'm not sure if I'm right) in a row. I know it will be even sweeter if our floorball teams can achieve similar results (we shall start with 2 finals in a row).
There isnt going to be outright favourites or easy meat at this stage of the competition. The difference between the teams is really very marginal.
Go out there and fight for Victoria.
Fight hard for what our team deserves.
For there isnt going to be a 2nd chance, 45min is all we have to show the rest what we are capable of. There must be no regrets. Win or lose, we must be able to hold our heads up for there is nothing to be ashamed of if we have tried your best.
