Firstly, on behalf of the guys, we would like to commend the girls for putting up a very good fight against MJC in the semis. In my opinion, you girls did very well, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Nevertheless, all the best for the 3rd/4th placing match against HCI. Don't throw away the match like the guys did last year against RI(JC). A bronze medal is always better than whatever a 4th placed medal is called. For the guys, we lost against MJC, credit to them, but we're gonna have our work cut out if we are to bring back the championship to VJC.

Here's the schedule for this week:

Monday (15/5) (Guys) VJC V RI(JC) 3.00pm Bus leaves at 1.00pm, dismissed from class at 11.45am

Wednesday (17/5)Girls VJC V HCI 1.30pm Bus leaves at 11.30am, dismissed from class at 10.30am (Doubt there's class coz of SPA, but not sure for the J1s)
(Guys) Court training (If we win semis) Not sure what time yet, but we'll be having training if we win our semis

Likewise, trainings on Friday and Saturday will be as per normal if we win our semis. In the event that we have to play 3rd/4th placing it will be at 3.00pm after the girls' match.

Firstly, congrats to the guys team for securing in the semis with wins over RVHS and HCI. For the girls, good win over NJC, now one more win to secure top position in the group.

Here's the schedule for this week:

Tuesday (10/5) (Guys) VJC V MJC 11.45am Bus leaves at 9.45am, dismissed from class at 8.45am
(Girls) VJC V RVHS 2.15pm Bus leaves at 12.15pm, dismissed from class at 11.05am
Yan hasn't confirmed if we'll be coming back for training tomorrow after our respective matches so please be prepared if he asks us to

Friday (13/5) (Guys) Court training 5.30pm-8.00pm
For the girls , the semis is on Friday and the timing of the semis depends on the group position. Group A winner play at 1.30 while Group A Runner-Up will play at 3.00

There will be NO training on Saturday due to the parent teacher J2 meeting

Hey Guys (and Girls),

Heard about your results so far, congrats and good luck for your match tomorrow.

Remember that IT IS going to be hard. But take it in your stride because nothing that is worth it in life is easy, that gold medal you guys are aiming for is definitely worth it. When you feel weak, just look at the guy beside you; yes he may be ugly but he is your teammate. At the end of the day that same guy is a person you shed blood, sweat and ran suicides with, draw strength from that and push on.

Here's a quote that I found especially meaningful,

Firstly, congrats on the opening game wins for the guys and girls against NJC and HCI respectively. For the girls, don't be discouraged by the draw with MI. I was looking through the VJFB blog archives and this was one of the quotes your very own Melsa posted last year:
A winner is a loser who was willing to fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up and win
Don't be disheartened, keep your heads up and do better in the next game! I trust Hui Ying is keeping all of you motivated so remember, our team goal is double champs this year, so make sure we all work hard towards this

For the guys, we'll be training after the RVHS match so we'll be taking the school bus back to VJ

We won't be able to get the hall on Friday and Saturday due to polling day, but once Yan confirms the plan for these 2 days, I'll update the blog again.
